Healing after an Affair
An affair can leave both partners feeling overwhelmed — with questions, hurt, anger, shame, or numbness.
In couples therapy, we slow things down and create safer conversations so you can understand what’s happened, what each of you needs, and what repair could look like.
Choose a time and date that suits you. We recommend couples book a 90-minute session to start to ensure everyone has time to be heard.

Getting Started
We’ll clarify what’s bringing you in and identify the pattern that keeps taking over. Focus shifts from “who’s wrong” to “what’s happening between us.”
Rebuild Connection
We work step-by-step to create safer conversations, strengthen emotional security, and build new ways of responding to each other that last .
Meet our Riggs and Momo...
Meet Riggs and Momo, our resident therapy cats who call the The Beach Haven home (part time). On days you visit in person, they may join your session if you’d like the company.
Research consistently shows that the presence of an animal can help lower anxiety, ease emotional defences, and create a sense of warmth and safety that is difficult to put into words. For many people, having a cat nearby can make it a little easier to breathe, to settle, and to open up.
If you’d prefer no cats in your session — whether due to allergies, a fear of cats, or simply personal preference — please let me know in your intake form. The room will be thoroughly prepared before you arrive, and no further explanation is needed.
What if one partner is more motivated to attend therapy?
That’s common. We can work with different levels of readiness and help both partners feel safe and involved in the process.
Is couples therapy only for relationships in crisis?
Not at all. Many couples come when they notice growing distance, recurring conflict, or difficulty repairing after arguments. Early support can prevent deeper disconnection.
Will therapy focus on who is right or wrong?
This is a common concern for those coming to therapy. We do not take sides or assign blame.
Our focus is on what’s happening between you, the pattern that keeps repeating. We support both parties and help the relationship become safer and more connected.
How long does couples therapy take?
Every couple is different. EFT Couples Therapy typically involves 12 – 20 sessions, focusing on identifying and reshaping negative interaction patterns and unmet needs.
The pace of therapy will be based on you. We work at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you!
It is recommended to start by booking 6 sessions to allow us time to understand what is happening in the relationship and what sits below the conflict.
